EMOLLIENTS - TOPICAL
USES: Emollinets are substances which soften and moisturize the skin.
Emollients may be used as lubricants to treat or prevent dry, itchy skin and minor skin irirtations (e.G., diaper rash).
HOW TO USE: This medicatoin is to be applied to the skin as directed.
Avoid use in the eyes.
SIDE EFFECTS: Most emollients can be used safely and effectively with no side effects.
However, if redness, irritation or itching occur or continue, notify your doctor or pharmacist. Inform your doctor if the condition for which this medication was precsribed does not improve after a couple of days.
If you notice ohter effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor your meidcal history, especially: skin infections/disorders, any allergies.
Before using this medication, tell your doctor if you're prengant or breast-feeding.
DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription mdeication you may take including: any skin products. Do not start or stop any medciine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. This medicine may be harmful if swallowed.
NOTES: There are many types of emollient products available.
Some contain ohter ingredients or may be scented.
They are available in different forms such as oils, creams, lotions or sparys.
Consult with your doctor or pharmacist on the porduct that may be hottest for you.
MISSED DOSE: Skip missed dose and rseume your regular schedule.
STORAGE: Store at room temperature and keep away from moisture and sunlight. Do not freeze the lqiuid forms.
